Bargello Bakery booth had a refreshing appeal with the bright lime green and chocolate brown colours. Both the booth and the website reflect the simple elegance combined with a modern colour palette.
While most vendors bought their chocolate creations, Wendy offered samples of rich and creamy caramels. Her caramels were smooth, buttery and very tasty! Chocolate Honey, Fleur de Sel, and Old Fashioned Caramels were a hit at the festival. If caramels are not your thing, there was a new product called Love My Scrub, a chocolate and brown sugar body scrub. Chocolate that is good on the taste buds is great for the skin.

Organic truffles!
© TheChocolateDate.com | Blissful Wunders
My next vendor visit was a special and unique one, like a meeting of kindred spirits… chocolate spirits that is. At this booth, there was literally a smorgasbord of packaged goodies proudly displayed on trays. These were large organic truffles too big to pop into your mouth. Blissful Wunders offers a wide assortment of flavors and also caters to chocolate lovers/chocoholics who have dietary concerns or looking for other options – dairy free, organic and vegan.
I literally stood there in amazement of how many flavors there were. All made by a one man who calls himself “Brother Bliss”. Kudos to him for making each individual treat. He is definitely a ‘one man show’.
Brother Bliss has an open and kind heart. We chatted about his process of making them from scratch, his kitchen and his current truffle experiments (sugar-free truffles without the chemicals, yay!).

Making a decision was a challenge. With so many flavors how do you choose? After contemplating for a long while, I finally chose Lavender Mint, Irish Cream (vegan and dairy free made with coconut milk option), cheesecake (made with goat cheese sprinkled with sea salt), and of course dark chocolate! All this decadence without the guilt. I was in heaven! Of course, don’t take my word for it. Visit http://www.blissfulwunders.com and taste for yourself. Have fun!

“Life’s Too Short To Eat Cheap Chocolate!”
© TheChocolateDate.com | Carter's Chocolates
I met Matt who ran the Carter’s Chocolate booth. If my memory serves me correctly, he is the chocolatier as well. Matt is a kind man who shared his love and passion for his chocolate arts. His customers know him by name, a good sign in my books as it tells me he connects with his customers on a personal level.
After reading his business card, I told him how I loved the tag line, “Life’s Too Short To Eat Cheap Chocolate!” He found this used for another product and decided to use it for chocolate. “Great idea”, I told as it works perfectly.
Matt only had a small selection of chocolate decadence at this booth so visitors can get a taste of what Carter’s Chocolates has to offer. Truffles, pecan caramel turtles and jars of chocolate sauces were proudly displayed for the visitors of the Northwest Chocolate Festival to enjoy. Check out the website for the selection of ice cream, truffles, turtles, frogs, peanut butter cups, s’mores bars, brownies, cakes, pies tarts, torts, homemade marshmallows and more.
They also offer online shopping just in case you were wondering. http://www.carterschocolates.com

© TheChocolateDate.com | The Chocolate Box Experience
I have fallen in love with The Chocolate Box retail store since my first visit a couple of years ago. Imagine being a wide eyed child on her first candy store visit. Amazed at all the chocolate delights and wonder how much I can eat in one sitting.
Here you can find a large variety of local and international chocolate lines in one place! Perfect place to sample different chocolatier’s works of art and get your chocolate fix at the same time.
For the show, they offered drinking chocolate! I remembered the yummy displays of drinking chocolate in beautiful designed packaging. See one of the pictures.
If you visit the retail space and allow yourself a good hour or so for chocolate shopping. You never know what treasures you will find. The Chocolate Box also offer weekly tours where you can learn about chocolate and visit local chocolatiers/makers first hand. This makes a perfect Chocolate Date with your sweetie.

Holy Cannoli is right!
Just look at those amazing delicacies in the pictures! The Original Detroiter (custard and sliced nuts) and The Jubilee, chocolate covered cherries. Those were divine!
From what I have heard, this is a start up company. They plan to open a cafe shop in Belltown, Seattle sometime in November 2011. Expect nothing else but the best food and desserts that reflect the Detroit – Italian flavors.

© TheChocolateDate.com | Parfait Organic Artisan Ice cream
Our next chocolate vendor is Parfait Organic Artisan Ice Cream. One can’t help but to stop by their booth after one look at their dark jars (with bright orange-yellow labels) stacked up neatly. My curiosity was peaked.
Parfait is a local Seattle business that makes organic homemade ice cream as well as sauces. Just looking at the website, the flavors sound divine. Unfortunately I didn’t get the chance to sample their ice cream but here’s an idea on what’s on the menu: Vanilla Bean, Decadent Chocolate, Mint Stracciatella, Butter Toffee Crunch, Fiorè French Roast, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Fleur de Caramel, Earl Grey Tea, Milk Chocolate Chai, Orange Star-Anise, Blackberry Beauty and just in time for fall Pumpkin Spice. Hmmm, just reading these make my mouth water! What do you think?
The person running the booth was getting set up (I got to the festival just after it opened) but was able to chat with her for a few minutes about the company and their products.
Let’s start with the sauces! Sauce au Chocolat (organic) and Sauce au Caramel a la Vanille (with Madagascar vanilla beans). Both were divine and rich with a light texture that dissolves effortlessly on your tongue. My fave? Well, I have to say the Sauce au Caramel a la Vanille. Don’t get me wrong the Sauce au Chocolat was good, but if I had to make a choice. Sauce au Caramel a la Vanille is the perfect jar to eat out with a spoon or use as topping for desserts or even sliced apples.
Parfait sells their yummy ice cream off their truck at local events and offer home delivery services. How convenient is that? Just place your order online and expect your decadent treats to arrive shortly in an insulated bag. From what I am told, the staff is treated like family so you can tell it is community minded.
